AIDS isn't over. We need to remember the mistakes of the past and their consequences. We also need to protect communities who are still at risk, particularly queer and trans youth of color.

To commemorate his 70th birthday, human rights activist, author, and lecturer Cleve Jones is throwing a big party to celebrate his community and benefit organizations that serve it. This event is the launch of fundraising efforts for the new Cleve Jones Community Fund. The money raised by this party will support two organizations that Cleve founded or co-founded and will be administered by the Horizons Foundation.

The AIDS Memorial Quilt humanizes the AIDS crisis and shares the story of AIDS to provide a widespread understanding of the devastation caused by AIDS and the lack of response to it. The San Francisco AIDS Foundation provides essential services for people with HIV/AIDS, with a mission to end the AIDS epidemic.

Partner Organizations

The Cleve Jones Community Fund has been created in partnership with three well-known community nonprofit organizations. Two are those that Cleve helped found, the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt (now administered by the National AIDS Memorial) and San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Horizons is honored to be the third partner organization and home to this Fund.

Special thanks for the generosity of our Presenting Partner, Gilead Sciences
